Amazon.com Product Description
NBA 2K10 is ready to tip off another championship season. NBA 2K9, the #1 selling NBA video game set the standard for all basketball video games, and NBA 2K10 aims to surpass that that by delivering an even better basketball experience this year with all-new gameplay components, out-of-this-world graphics, even more realistic Signature Style animations, all-new presentation elements and an unrivaled online system — this season you won’t just play the NBA, you’ll live it.

NBA Today
NBA 2K10 is committed to providing a realistic NBA experience. Just one aspect of this is NBA Today, in which all the real world matchups, news and stats are automatically streamed right into your game providing dynamic commentary and presentation elements based upon what is happening in the real NBA.

My Player Mode
My Player Mode is perhaps the most exciting new feature built into NBA 2K10. Instead of focusing on over all team status, My Player Mode is a career mode, allowing players at home create the ultimate NBA player from the ground, up and guide his every career move. Start as an undrafted rookie in the Summer Leagues, where you specify every aspect of your character’s game and physical makeup. Work hard enough throughout the series of games played here, gathering enough experience points along the way to build the skills your player needs at his position and you may get an invite to participate in an NBA team’s training camp. And if you don’t make the cut, not to worry there is always the D-League, where you can work more on your game until you get your next shot. Either way, the road to being an NBA star is a long and hard battle full of challenges.

Crews
Basketball is a team sport, and NBA 2K10 acknowledges this with its Crew functionality. Round up your friends and build the ultimate squad, using either your created players from My Player mode or an actual NBA team, then go online and battle other Crews for bragging rights and progression points as you try to climb your way to the top of the Crew leaderboard rankings.

Living Rosters
The 2K Insider and his team of NBA analysts continue to keep NBA 2K10 fresh with up-to-date team and player information, including roster and lineup moves, trades, injuries and player ratings. Now track all of the changes through the season with interactive menus and analysis.

Seamless Online Experience
Forget the past, with NBA 2K10 online play is fully incorporated into every mode of the game. Now you can play the AI, challenge the friend sitting next to you or play your buddy across town anytime, from anywhere in the game. The game features 1-4 player support in versus and coop play locally and 2-10 player support in versus and coop play online with up to a full five man roster on each side.

Signature Play
Signature Play pulls together all of NBA 2K’s player Signature Styles and adds in all-new Signature Tendencies and facial expressions, creating NBA 2K10 teams that play and react like their real life counterparts for an unbelievably realistic NBA experience.

New Intuitive Offensive Controls
All-new easy-to-use dribbling and post game controls allow you to pull off ankle breaking ISO-Motion moves and dominate like Kobe from the perimeter to the paint.

Shut Down D
Every NBA star knows that offense is flashy, but defense wins championships. With this in mindNBA 2K10 gives you the opportunity to show your stuff at both ends of the court. Shut down teams like never before with innovative defensive controls that allow you to shadow your opponent’s every move, deny position off-ball, and even select how you want to contest shots.

Kinect for Xbox 360 vs. PlayStation Move

Kinect for Xbox 360 vs. PlayStation Move

Analysis: A little hands-on gaming with the new features suggests both could use a bit more time in the oven.
Jun 19, 2010 9:36 am

The more time I spent with Playstation Move and Kinect for Xbox 360, the more I’m convinced that they’re both hitting the market about six months too early.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the hardware. Kinect, a special camera that tracks motion, worked fine — if not a tad laggy — in the games I played on the show floor. Same goes for the Move, which behaves a lot like a Wii remote, but also with a camera that traces the positioning of the controller in 3D space, and of course the benefit of better graphics. But before the show, I , and neither the Move nor Kinect have it — yet.

I played two of Microsoft’s Kinect games developed in-house — a suite of mini-games called Kinect Sports and yet another suite of mini-games called Kinect Adventures — plus Dance Central, essentially a full-body Dance Dance Revolution by Harmonix, makers of Rock Band. The Microsoft games felt like tech demos. While it was definitely neat to grab a virtual bowling ball out of thin air and see it move in my hands on the screen, it’s still Wii Sports all over again, and the hurdle-jumping game I played was eerily similar to the Nintendo Power Pad from the late 1980s. Dance Central had more substance, but if the novelty of music games can wear off, the same will be said for aerobic dancing games.

My time with the Move consisted of one in-house game called The Fight: Lights Out, plus Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, existing games that will gain Move support through software updates. If you’ve played Resident Evil 4 on the Wii or Tiger Woods golf with Wii MotionPlus, you’ve basically experienced their counterparts on the Playstation Move. The Fight: Lights Out was more unique, accurately tracking my arms as I held a controller in each hand, though I was advised to take slow, deliberate swings rather than lightning-quick jabs. Sudden movements were suppressed to keep the on-screen avatar from flailing, it seemed. The freedom to improvise moves — I once hit my opponent with a double-armed haymaker — was a nice touch. Still, there wasn’t an overall structure to the game, just round after round of mindless slugging.

Obviously, Microsoft has more distinctive technology with the controller-free Kinect, making it all the more frustrating that Microsoft’s own games felt more derivative than the third-party Dance Central. Worse still , the most awe-inspiring Kinect game introduced this week, Child of Eden, wasn’t playable, and has no release date announced.

Sony, meanwhile, has promised that the Move will give enthusiast gamers a reason to throw down their joypads and love motion control, but there was little evidence to back that claim on the show floor. The company impressed me last year with a technical demo of sword-and-shield fighting, but the only incarnation of this idea was housed inside — you guessed it — a collection of mini-games called Sports Champions.

Another six months in the lab might not improve either product on a technical level (or it might), and I can only imagine the flak Microsoft and Sony would get from investors for letting the Wii dominate motion control for yet another holiday, but more time would at least give game developers the chance to play around and create great things for launch day. Instead of starting strong, both Move and Kinect will limp to the gate.

Red Dead Redemption Review

Source

The American West has made actors famous and writers rich. It has inspired children on the playground and grizzled country singers alike. Its stories of heroes and bandits, gold rushes and simple homesteaders have been fictionalized and romanticized to the point that they’re known the world over. And yet, videogame makers have either ignored the setting or attempted to squeeze it into existing game conventions with limited success. That has all changed now that Rockstar, the group made famous for its Grand Theft Auto series, turned its eye towards the Wild West. No game maker has approached the period with as much passion and power as Red Dead Redemption. This is the new bar that all Westerns must strive to reach.

It’s tempting to say that Red Dead Redemption is ahead of its time, but the reality is that this is a game of and for the times. Rockstar shows an uncanny ability to hold a mirror up to society and remind us that present day hot button issues like racism, immigration, federal government power and personal freedoms are not only nothing new, they are deeply ingrained in American society. They are forces that helped to shape America into what it is, and their inclusion in Red Dead Redemption gives it a sense of authenticity that videogames in general lack.

But rather than preaching politics at you, Red Dead Redemption puts you in the shoes of the relatively neutral John Marston. This former outlaw gone straight has found that history has a way of catching up with you. Those who were once his friends have now become enemies, leaving Marston alone and fighting for his future in a lawless land. It’s a setup that is almost cliche, but this is only the beginning of your adventure.

The storyline of Red Dead Redemption will take you all over a vast swath of countryside that straddles the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Along the way you’ll meet, assist, and spill blood with a fantastic cast of supporting characters as Marston attempts to set things straight. The characters are wonderful with top notch dialogue and voice acting — all good enough to make you feel a part of the world.

If there is any criticism I could level at the story, it’s that Marston occasionally feels divorced from the action, his motivations muddled as he is all too willing to help anybody that asks for it despite his own pressing matters. A simple, “I’m being made to do this,” from Marston is all you’ll get out of the protagonist for much of the game while secondary characters drive the tale along, which was a bit of a disappointment for me. This all changes towards the end, however, as Red Dead Redemption builds towards a shattering climax that is amongst the best I’ve ever seen in a videogame.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is Inevitable

Final Fantasy VII has been receiving alot of noise lately all across the net ever since Square released the Tech Demo for the PS3 in E3 Gaming Expo years back. You can type in the FF7 Remake and you will get hundreds upon hundreds of articles across the board about any type of news, and when I say any I mean ANY. One of the creators can sneeze during the topic of FF7 and it will be written about, it is that serious.

Now there is more promising news that a Final Fantasy VII remake is actually being considered because Square is actually listening to their fans and responding to any questions that pop up. One of the main reason’s Square-Enix has complained about remaking this timely classic that released on the Playstation 1 many years back is that recreating a game in HD graphics would take too long. Remember unlike Final Fanatasy XIII that has been released, FF7 actually has Towns and Interactivity with people in the villages as well as many side quests that allows freedom to explore the vast Final Fantasy world. Creating the timely classic in all HD glory they say would take too long and would be twice the development time of FF XIII which took 3 years and note that this game did not have any of the features mentioned for FF7.

Now that we are in 2010, years have passed from the previous Tech Demo and we are awaiting this years E3 or Tokyo Gaming Show for the big answer to the question we have all been waiting for, and that is Final Fantasy VII Remake coming? PS3 would be the preferred platform, not because of its raw power but because of its Blu-Ray disc which allow games to be filled up to the max of 50GB. That’s enough considering the fact that the game should include Original Japanese Audio, HD Gameplay and remastered CG  that will blow everyone’s socks off like the original. The Blu-Ray disc prevents the game from being Linear, if the game were to appear of DVD Discs then a person would have to keep swapping disc just to revisit a certain location.

Time will tell, the only thing gamers can do is wait and see. Time will stop itself when this game gets announced, are you ready?

If you have a PS-One/PS2 you can buy the Original
If  you have a PS3 its available on the PlayStation Network (PSN)

Relive the Sequel in Blu-Ray greatness!
